Whether you’re new to our school or a longtime Knox County Virtual School family, we want to provide the resources you need to achieve success.
This is a central hub for students and families to easily access information for navigating the school and school day, including enrollment, student handbooks, information about schedules, extra curricular activities, and more!
Enrollment
Knox County Virtual School is a school of choice and students must apply through the Transfer Office to enroll with our school.
Knox County Virtual School currently serves in grades 4-12, but has served students in grades 1-12.
Daily Schedule
At Knox County Virtual School, the school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. on regular school days.
On Wings-Up Wednesdays, the school day begins at 8:30 a.m., and ends at 3:00 p.m. This is for high school only.
On Phoenix Fridays, the school day begins at 8:30 a.m., and ends at 2:50 p.m. This is for middle school only.
Students must attend for at least 3.5 hours to be counted present for the day.
Academics
Knox County Virtual School students will take classes from elementary through graduation ensuring their learning is connected to real-world skills and future opportunities.
Student Supports
The entire staff of Knox County Virtual School is committed to establishing an atmosphere in which our students will feel safe, secure, and happy so they maximize their opportunities to learn and achieve. The school has trained counselors and social workers on staff.
Library / Media Center
Our library is a hub for student learning, reading, and discovery. Our library is virtual and available 24/7 for students to check out books or use research resources.
